How ready are children in Santa Clara County?
In 2008, more than 20,000 kindergarten students entered school in Santa Clara County, representing a diverse mix of ethnic, linguistic and social-economic backgrounds. For the fourth year since 2004, the Partnership for School Readiness has gathered data to examine the readiness skills that these students bring with them as they begin their school careers.
The assessment relies on the methodology developed with Applied Survey Research. The primary components include: direct observation of the skills of the children, a parent information form, and a teacher expectation survey.
